Is your money safe with BCHG?

BCHG safeguards your deposit and balance payments in the unlikely event that your BCHG tour operator ceases trading (credit card payments are subject to the Consumer Credit Act 1972). You are guaranteed repayment of monies paid. It also ensures the completion of your holiday if it has already started. The guarantee is backed by a bond provided by a high street bank or major insurance company.

How does it work?

BCHG operators are bound by rules and a code of conduct and must ensure that the terms of their trading charter and clear and reasonable. The Confederation of Passenger Transport uses an independent arbitration service to handle complaints.

Why the need for BCHG?

In January 1993 the Package Travel Regulations came into force to offer protection to consumers when booking package holidays. Tour operators have a legal obligation to provide such protection and failure to do so is a criminal offence.

How are BCHG operators monitored?

The Confederation of Passenger Transport assess members regularly against operational and financial standards.
