Canterury Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage beacon in the heart of the city, and we can enjoy an exclusive experience by staying at the Cathedral Lodge nestled within its hallowed grounds. We get to visit the cathedral and have a guided tour of Leeds Castle known as the “loveliest castle in the world”.
Sunday We head to Kent and make a lunch time stop in Royal Tunbridge Wells, a picturesque spa town. Visit the famous Pantiles with independent stores and food options.
Monday All day to explore Canterbury including a visit to the famous Cathedral a short walk from your hotel! The cathedral has awe-inspiring medieval architecture that commands the skyline and dates to 597.
Tuesday To Leeds Castle where we arrive before it opens to the public and enjoy a private guided tour of the castle. We traverse secret passageways and immerse ourselves in the opulent grandeur of the castle that was transformed by King Henry VIII for the use of his doomed wife Katherine of Aragon. There is then free time to explore the 500 acre gardens at your own pace, meandering through vibrant blooms, and maybe tackle the maze! We leave early afternoon for home.
Please note that this holiday does not include evening meals, but we are very close to the centre of Canterbury with many options. Plus the hotel has a restaurant (please book direct with them in advance).
