German Christmas Markets

4 Days | Cologne and Koblenz

At this festive time of year Germany hosts some of the most beautiful Christmas markets with lights, candles, and the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine. Cologne is a mecca for Christmas market lovers and has eight separate market areas. We also visit the famous city of Koblenz, famous as the meeting place of the Moselle and Rhine rivers, that has one of the most popular markets set up across seven squares. Our hotel is in Bruhl and we are walking distance from the pedestrianised town centre.

PLEASE NOTE: This holiday is bed & breakfast only but the hotel has a restaurant and the town centre is walking distance.

Friday To France by ferry and on through Belgium to our hotel in the market town of Bruhl just outside Cologne.

Saturday We follow the course of the Rhine to Koblenz where we have all day to enjoy the markets and everything else this town has to offer. The market features over 130 stalls and the town itself
is renowned as a city full of experiences. Top Tip: Make sure to visit Deutsches Eck where there is a stunning statue at the point where the Moselle and Rhine rivers meet!

Sunday To nearby Cologne where we have all day to explore this fabulous city. There are eight separate market areas and Cologne has cosy old-world charm with narrow, cobbled streets and alleys. The whole city is watched over by the most famous landmark, the cathedral which is a protected UNESCO site.

Monday
We return home making suitable stops.
