Isle of Wight by Ferry

Shanklin and The Needles

To Portsmouth and we catch the ferry to Fishbourne and make our way to the resort of Shanklin.

Shanklin is a resort of great charm whose popular seaside attractions include a sandy beach, with excellent swimming and sunbathing opportunities. The seafront Esplanade is lined with small hotels, cafes and amusements including crazy golf, arcades, indoor children’s play area and fun fair. A cliff lift links the town with the Esplanade and a road train operates between the seafront, town centre and the Old Village.  A stroll along Shanklin’s High Street and Regent Street will reveal a range of cafes, restaurants and individually owned shops, while the thatched cottages of the Old Village offer the visitor a range of tea rooms and unique gift shops.

We then travel across the island with great views of the coast as we travel along the old Military Road. We then visit The Needles, where entry is free.

The world-famous Needles Landmark Attraction, one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic sights and a unique part of Britain. From fun family attractions to retail outlets, cafés and restaurants, there’s something for everyone to enjoy (attractions cost extra).

We return to the mainland sailing from Yarmouth to Lymington and round off the day with a scenic drive through the New Forest.
