Your adventure includes a visit to the enchanting Dalemain Mansion, gracefully poised on the banks of the River Eamont, where history and beauty intertwine.
Sunday We travel north and make a lunch time stop in Shrewsbury, with endless independent shops and taste-bud-tingling eateries wrapped in a picturesque market town with over 1,000 years of history.

A | The moment we step aboard the exquisite Saphos Train we are transported back to the golden age of travel, surrounded by intricate marquetry and plush upholstery. We begin a day of splendour with a chilled glass of Buck’s fizz, toasting the exceptional experience that awaits. Liveried stewards will be
on hand, offering unrivalled personal service to ensure every requirement is fulfilled. Then a sumptuous full English or fish breakfast with pastries, artfully crafted with attention to detail and to be savoured while the breathtaking landscapes glide by. We disembark in world-famous York, a city oozing with charm, exploring a captivating attraction (TBC) before re-joining the train for an exquisite five-course seasonal dinner accompanied by the sommelier’s choice of a half-bottle of wine per person and concluded with tea, coffee and homemade petits fours for the finishing touch. We return to the hotel carrying cherished memories of indulgence and splendour.
B | To Tatton Park, spanning over 1,000 acres. The centrepiece is the majestic Tatton Hall, an elegant neoclassical mansion, standing as a testament to the taste and style of its former residents. We can wander through its lavishly furnished rooms, adorned with fine art and period décor, offering a glimpse into the lives of the highly influential Egerton family. Surrounding the hall lies the fifty-acre Tatton Gardens, featuring meticulously landscaped formal gardens, tranquil lakes, vibrant floral displays that change with the seasons and the enchanting Japanese garden.
Wednesday We return home following free time in Chester with history dating back to Roman times.
