Your adventure includes a visit to the enchanting Dalemain Mansion, gracefully poised on the banks of the River Eamont, where history and beauty intertwine.
Sunday We travel north and make a lunch time stop in Shrewsbury, with endless independent shops and tastebud tingling eateries picturesque market town with over 1,000 years of history.
Monday From the moment you board the exquisite Saphos Train, you’re transported to the golden age of travel, surrounded by elegant marquetry and plush upholstery. Begin your day with a chilled Buck’s Fizz as liveried stewards provide impeccable service. Enjoy a sumptuous full English or fish breakfast with pastries while breathtaking scenery glides by, including the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct. Depart Chester at 08:40, arriving in Langwathby at 13:30. After visiting Dalemain Mansion, rejoin the train in Penrith at 17:00 for a superb five-course seasonal dinner, paired with the
sommelier’s wine selection and finished with tea, coffee, and homemade petits fours. Return to Chester at 21:00.
Tuesday A relaxing start to the day before we visit nearby Arley Hall & Gardens, a historic hone set in over 2000 acres of countryside.
Wednesday We return home following free time in Chester with history dating back to Roman times.
