Weald & Downland Museum (Home of The Repair Shop)

& South Downs National Park

The Weald & Downland Living Museum is a hidden gem in the South East, quintessentially British in a picture perfect setting. It is a museum for those who want to see, touch and even smell what life was really like for people living in years gone by. Whether you are 5 or 95 there is something for everyone! It is also famous as being where The Repair Shop is filmed*.

You can enjoy waterside dining at the Museum’s stunning café, with fantastic views across the mill pond and discover unique gifts, souvenirs and produce made from our very own resources.

So come and witness a past that is truly alive! We have working exhibits that, through craft demonstrations, show how they would have operated hundreds of years ago – experience blacksmithing, milling, spinning, Tudor cooking and more.

We drive to and from the museum on a circualr route taking in some of the South Downs National Park.

*The Court Barn is home to BBC's The Repair Shop series and is closed for private hire (filming). Whilst the production team are busy filming for the TV show, the area around the barn is closed to the public, however you might be able to take a glimpse of the team in action. Visitors are politely asked to stay behind the barriers and not take photographs or film them whilst they are working.
