A midweek tour combining a relaxing cruise along the Great Western Canal, a railway journey, scenic journeys over Exmoor and time in the coastal resorts of Devon. Always popular and this year we have added an extra train ride, the Lynton Cliff Railway!
Monday We take the scenic route to Devon with a lunchtime stop in Cheddar Gorge. On our arrival at the hotel we are met with tea and coffee.
Tuesday We travel to the south Devon coast and stop in the seaside town of Sidmouth. In the afternoon enjoy a gentle cruise along the Great Western Canal by horse-drawn barge. During the journey you will hear some tales about the canal. A Devon Cream Tea will also be served during the 2.5 hour journey.
Wednesday We join the West Somerset Railway, Britain’s longest steam railway, at Bishops Lydeard for a scenic ride through the Quantock Hills to the resort of Minehead where we have free time. We also visit Porlock before returning over Exmoor to our hotel.
Thursday To the North Devon coast with stops in Lynmouth, where we enjoy a ride on the cliff railway, and Ilfracombe. We also drive through the Valley of Rocks with its majestic skyline.
Last Day We return home with a scenic drive and a stop in Bath.
