Exmouth commands a wonderful position where the River Exe joins the sea. Devon’s oldest seaside resort, it is renowned for its red cliffs and has a long, level promenade with fine views to sea and along the coastline.
First Day We call at Bickleigh Mill in its lovely setting by the River Exe. It is a working mill and contains shops and eating options. From here we follow the tranquil Exe Valley to Exmouth.
Tours whilst at resort:
A Along the coast to visit the resorts of Sidmouth, an attractive town set between red cliffs, and Seaton, set on the mouth of the River Exe.
B A choice today, spend the whole day in Exeter or split your day between House of Marbles and Exeter. Exeter is one of Britain’s most historic towns with a lovely cathedral, great shopping and riverside walks.
C To Budleigh Salterton, a quiet town that feels like a step back in time. Later we visit the Donkey Sanctuary, founded in 1969 and now home to hundreds of donkeys! Entry is free but donations are gratefully received.
LAST DAY Home with a stop in the small city of Wells, with its fine cathedral and market square.
A 2 star hotel situated close to the beach and town with stunning views across Exmouth bay.
