Falmouth has a beautiful position, and our hotel is well located on the seafront, with far-reaching views. Having such a mild climate, sub-tropical plants bloom here. The magnificent natural harbour and interesting town add to the charm of this excellent resort.
First Day To Cornwall and we make a lunchtime stop in Boscastle which is a picturesque, sheltered harbour on a rugged coast where the quaint old buildings have been converted into pubs, restaurants and coffee shops.
Tours whilst at resort
A | We enjoy views of Mount’s Bay, overlooked by the beautiful St Michael’s Mount, before arriving at Land’s End where we make a short stop in this dramatic location. Then the coastal route to St Ives. St Ives is described as the jewel in Cornwall’s crown and has a picturesque fishing harbour.
B | We visit Truro, a great, little city filled with friendly pubs, restaurants, shops, and an iconic cathedral. On our return we make a short stop in Porthleven, an unspoilt fishing harbour steeped in history.
C | We visit Par Market & Food Hall (open Wednesdays and Weekends), one of the largest indoor markets in the UK with a huge choice from essentials to specialties and curios plus holiday memories. Or if you would prefer, you can instead visit Charlestown and step in to Cornwall’s Historic Maritime Village, used extensively as a film set. Then to Mevagissey where narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the distinctive twin harbour which provides a safe haven for the many fishing boats that land their daily catch. In typical picture postcard style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops cluster around the harbour walls.
D | We travel to the north coast of Cornwall and after enjoying the scenic coastal drive from Newquay, we make a stop in Padstow. Padstow has a lovely setting by the Camel Estuary where narrow
streets lead to the harbour.
Last Day We return with a lunchtime stop in Exeter.
