Tours whilst at resort
A Steeped in history and natural scenic beauty, the Leeds-Liverpool canal is a truly fascinating waterway. Departing from Skipton our skipper unravels the 200 year-old tale of the canal while passing through spectacular scenery, mill buildings and swing bridges. The trip includes tea/ coffee and biscuits. Following free time for lunch we board a train to Carlisle which includes the famous 72 mile stretch from Settle to Carlisle. This journey is steeped in history and it takes us through magnificent Yorkshire Dale scenery, over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct and through the gentle, lush, rolling hills of the Eden Valley.
B In the morning we visit Harrogate before an afternoon ride on the Keighley & Worth Railway, an authentic steam railway that runs through the heart of Bronte Country. Lovingly preserved, the line was used in the film version of E.E. Nesbitt’s The Railway Children and countless other period dramas. We then make a short stop in the picturesque village of Haworth, where the world of Wuthering Heights is brought to life.
Last day To Bridgnorth for an afternoon stop and then to round the holiday off we enjoy a ride on the Severn Valley Railway to Kidderminster.
