Every two years in Belgium, the ancient Grand Place in the heart of Brussels is transformed with an explosion of floral colour and fragrant scents. Grown especially for the event, a vast carpet of beautiful, fresh begonias are set up in patterns to create a spectacular, awe-inspiring display under a magnificent and distinguished backdrop, which really must be seen to be believed.
This tour is based in Leuven and whatever you are looking for in a city can be found here! It is a people-friendly city with a small town feel! There is great shopping, gastronomical pleasures, ancient buildings and modern architecture. Leuven is also home to Stella Artois and we round off our Saturday with a tour plus tasting.
Day 1 To Calais and on to Ghent, a mix of the medieval and the modern and regarded by some as the most authentic historic city in the world! Later we continue to Leuven.
Day 2 All day free to explore Leuven before our coach takes us for our Stella Artois tour and tasting. After dinner maybe visit the famous Oude Market where you will find 40 bars and cafes.
Day 3 To Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. We spend all day here as there is plenty to explore as well as the flowers.
Day 4 Our holiday isn’t over yet as we make a stop in mediaeval Bruges with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and horse drawn carts plodding by.
