A midweek tour combining a relaxing cruise along the Great Western Canal, a railway journey, scenic journeys over Exmoor and time in the coastal resorts of Devon.
First Day We take the scenic route to Devon with a lunchtime stop in Cheddar Gorge.
Tours at resort
a We travel to the south Devon coast and stop in the seaside town of Sidmouth. In the afternoon enjoy a gentle cruise along the Great Western Canal by horse-drawn barge. During the journey you will hear some tales about the canal. A Devon Cream Tea will also be served during the 2.5 hour journey.
b We join the West Somerset Railway, Britain’s longest steam railway, at Bishops Lydeard for a scenic ride through the Quantock Hills to the resort of Minehead where we have free time. We also visit Porlock before returning over Exmoor to our hotel.
c To the North Devon coast with stops in Lynmouth, where there is the opportunity to take the cliff railway (not included), and Ilfracombe. We also drive through the Valley of Rocks with its majestic skyline.
Last Day We return home with a scenic drive and a stop in Bath.
