Day 1 We travel to Scotland and our first stop, the King Robert Hotel in Stirling.

Day 2  A free day to enjoy the beautiful and historic city of Stirling. Wars  of Independence were fought and won here and for 3 centuries   monarchs lived in the castle which is still here today. The town centre and castle are a 30 minute walk away or there are regular buses.

Day 3 Great scenery all day as we travel through the Highlands, Cairngorms and Speyside and on to Inverness, where we visit a kilt maker, before catching our early evening crossing from Ullapool to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, our base for the next 2 nights.

Day 4 A wonderful guided tour around the Isle of Lewis, with a local guide. We view amazing scenery as well as traditional Blackhouses, amazingly still lived in until recently, “Scotland’s Stonehenge” at Callanish and an historic “Broch” at Carloway.

Day 5 A day of island hopping when we travel south through Lewis and Harris, with magnificent beaches and scenery throughout. We continue by ferry to the Isle of Benbecula, our base for the next 2 nights at the Dark Island Hotel in Liniclate.

Day 6 We have a local guide on board for our tour of Benbecula and South Uist with its Bonnie Prince  Charlie connections.

Day 7 A long but rewarding day today as we catch the ferry from Lochmaddy to Uig on the northern tip of the Isle of Skye. We then take a wonderful scenic journey across Skye, through the Highlands of Scotland and alongside the Bonnie Banks  of  Loch  Lomond  to  the  3 star Erskine Bridge Hotel where we have a late dinner.

Day 8 This Scottish odyssey ends with the journey south.
