Yorkshire has rolling dales and stunning vistas, colourful towns and quaint villages plus a wonderful history and heritage. Many of the most famous settings have been used in major TV and film dramas. We enjoy a 4 hour guided tour of Last of the Summer Wine country and then another guided tour of Emmerdale film locations before a buffet lunch in the Woolpack with a star from the show! There is also a full day in York to shop or explore and this year the tour has been upgraded to stay in a 4 star hotel.
First Day We head north with a lunchtime stop in the Peak District town of Bakewell.
Tours at Resort
a Our guide meets us at the hotel and takes us on our way through scenic countryside where we will discover some of the locations used in the filming of Emmerdale. The tour includes a visit to the market town of Otley, known as Hotten in the soap. We continue to Esholt where much of the filming of Emmerdale took place for 22 years before a replica village was built. The tour ends with a cold buffet in the Woolpack Inn with a star from the show. Later we spend time in Harrogate.
b All day in the fabulous city of York.
c We have a local guide on board to enjoy a tour of Last of the Summer Wine Country. Our tour takes in Holmfirth, where much of the filming took place and home to Sid’s Café and Nora Batty’s house. Free to enjoy Leeds for the remainder of the day.
Last Day We return down the other side of the country with a drive across the Snake Pass and a stop at Trentham Estate Shopping Centre.
